Finding Relief with the “Covering Your Bases” Program for Autism/ADD/ADHD

I am hearing great reviews from people who have read my book Becoming Real: Our Journey Through Autism!

People are saying they cannot put it down and it is a really quick read even for those who struggle with reading. If you haven’t read it yet, here is a section on the first step in the Covering Your Bases Program I suggest for Autism/ADHD/ADD. You can get it here on Amazon This section is emphasizing where to start on any healing program, and that is with finding relief for the caregiver. Then find quick relief for symptoms for the child so that you can then move into the deeper healing phase of the 2nd-4th Bases. If you are looking to purchase or have further consulting on using essential oils, write to me through the Contact button on my site. I will get back to you and set up a free consultation over the phone. Enjoy this excerpt from the book!

“First Base: Relieve

First Base is all about finding Relief. Focus on how to quickly relieve stress, anxiety, and

pain. That goes for the caregivers first! Parents and caregivers, you need to listen to me very

carefully. You cannot do anything significant for your child until you are taken care of. What do they tell you in the pre-flight safety talk about oxygen masks? Put your own mask on first and then put on your child’s mask. I did not do a good job of this when I was going through it, but now I know better. I take my supplements, I eat well, and go on “dates with myself” as I call them. I use a daily routine of essential oils like Grounding blend, Calming Blend, and others.

Holding the boundary that your own health is important is very difficult, but it is essential. Try

using my Thriving Mind blend, Becoming Real Blend, or Be Still Blend mentioned in Chapter

11 or try the Focus Blend. These essential oils applied to the neck, chest, or wrists can help you to get clear on where to start, but be sure to start with your own needs first. You can get my Secret Recipes for these blends when you go to www.wellrootedwellness.com and subscribe to the website. You will receive information on how to make these powerful essential oil blends and how they help to support your physical and emotional health.

Next consider the physical and emotional needs of your child. Along with the Calming

blend, oils such as lavender, vetiver, and several other blends will address various kinds of stress, focus, relaxation, and mood issues. Remember to try the Be Still Blend before bedtime if it is difficult for your child to sleep or during other times that they may need calming. Many of the peppermint or wintergreen based blends such as the Soothing Blend can be applied to areas of discomfort. As you breathe deeply, you will also enjoy the aromatherapy the oils provide.

If you are applying them topically, dilute the oils with a carrier oil such as fractionated

coconut oil. This diluting oil will not stain or be greasy but will stretch the oil to cover more area and keep it from irritating the skin if it is a hot oil such as oregano or cinnamon. Use the coconut oil to wipe any irritation away, especially if it is in the eyes. Water, unfortunately, will only accentuate the problem. Just one drop of the essential oil is enough to supply the body with thousands molecules for each cell. This is hard for us to believe, but if we consider that they are 50-70 times more potent than herbs, it makes sense. We can drink 28 cups of peppermint tea or get the equivalent in properties from one drop of peppermint oil!

Each time you try a specific blend of essential oils, it will address slightly different things

in the body, so it is wise to try several different oils if you aren’t getting desired results. Also

consider if you aren’t applying it at the correct dilution, correct location, or frequency of use.

Those are all things that I personally consult with people about and teach them how to decide on their own. You can’t go wrong with putting five or six drops of essential oil in a diffuser. I keep one going as often as possible with a citrus oil, or blend. Three different kinds of diffusers are sold at my website, each one varying in design and the amount of time they run. There is a cheaper diffuser, great for running for up to three hours in the kitchen or main areas of the home.

For those that need the diffuser to run through the night or all day, they should consider the

slightly more expensive diffusers since they run for at least eight hours. For example, it is great to use the Respiratory Blend to support healthy lung function and have it run all night in a child’s room if needed.

Take time at least once or twice a day to apply or diffuse the oils that support physical or

emotional balance. Over time, the total burden on the body and mind will be lessened

significantly. As we know, stress causes the release of cortisol, which is affectionately referred to as the “death hormone” when it constantly runs through our veins. High levels of cortisol

accelerate muscle breakdown and enhance fat storage, especially around the abdominals. Stress needs to be kept under control, so make sure to take a deep breath and gain composure before running on to second base.”

I hope you find these suggestions helpful! You can get the essential oils I recommend at a

discounted price if you contact me through this website. The book is available as a download or paperback on Amazon. I also recommend doing the Cortices Technique as a daily practice. This tapping and breathing technique is simple and able to rebalance the brain and body in minutes. A video training of how to do it is found on my website under the “About” tab. Wishing you all natural relief from what stresses and ails you today!

 RealTalk |BodyTalk Testimonial

"Moments of joy returning to families!! Here's a testimonial from Session #2 for J., age 8, dealing with Autism. I did a distance Bodytalk session one night after he went to bed. I shared results from first session last week. Here's what happened this time: "This is so cool. So last night before you called, J. had a super bad night and ended up going to bed crying and mad because he wouldn't do his homework that was taking 2 hours to do like 8 problems. It was discouraging and my parents were exhausted and sad watching the whole ordeal. BUT... I woke up at 3am to find J. standing by my bedside and he said "mommy" and gave me a big hug.... Amazing right??? It was like an out of body experience! Then he laid down by me and snuggled his head towards me and let me rub his back which never happens- then he looked at me with the most genuine deep smile that came straight from his soul and laughed and his body kind of got the shivers when he layed back down and he giggled again. I haven't seen him smile like that for a long time - it's like his old self was shining through. It made me think of how you said his cells were doing the happy dance and thought maybe he just couldn't contain himself.... it was seriously so amazing and beautiful! I also remembered asking him at 3am something about what he was doing up and he said something about doing homework which I ignored and just snuggled him but when I woke up I found his homework COMPLETED on the counter! Seriously so amazing.... Thank you for being so in tune to help heal my family- I keep thinking it's going to be baby steps but instead they are giant leaps!!! Hugs!"
